Motivation Monday

Hey y’all Happy Monday!!… hopefully you’re having a great start to your day so far. I just want to share a quick tip and one of my favorite apps that I use to work out. If you’re like me and your workouts get boring or you want to quit because you’re bored I need something to change it up and I need a little coaching to get my booty in shape.

But if you are like Me you can’t go to a fitness classes because it is pretty much impossible to fit into your schedule being a wife and a mom. Let’s be honest… driving 30 min one way to take a class for 45 minutes isn’t the best utilization of my time! Or you know the classes in the middle of the day – hell I would ❤️ to do those but I work so no way that’s happening! And the ones in the evenings around 6:00 or 7:00… well that’s like crazy time at our house … you know peeps homework, bath, 🛌, then a few fits on between😳. As you know I am doing the Last 90 Day Challenge So anything go keep this momma on track is a plus. So I found this app and it’s called Aaptiv and I absolutely LOVE it.

It has everything from a treadmill workout, meditation, outside running, strength training and you pick your level that you want to do and the amount of time you want to do it. It has someone coaching you you through it and it also gives ya some good workout tunes so you don’t even have to figure what play list you want to use!

Morning WORKOUTS??? New to Me!

Ok all… I have started this NEW routine that I have tried 100 flipping times and failed on myself!!!   But this time I am going to figure it out!  How many of you are like I want to get my workout in at 5am.  You go to bed set your alarm, set your clothes out and when you look at the alarm going off at 5am you hit snooze like 1000x… MeMeMeMe.  Ok and I am a crappy early morning workout partner, just as my friends who I tell them I am going to meet and I always find an excuse!   I think to myself how I let them down but really the ONLY person I am really letting down is myself!

Soooooo….. as you know I am doing the #Last90DayChallenge and one thing is to wake up an hour earlier and another is to do 30 minutes a day!  Well this morning I did it again.  Snoozed that alarm but Im so proud…. I only snoozed it for 30 min and then said “Get your ass up Chelcee!”.  I know for some of you that isn’t such an accomplishment but for me its a WIN WIN!  Granted when I don’t get my rear up by 5 for my 30min workout I usually don’t get the workout to myself!  But thats Ok… I got it done!  Woohoo!

This is what I go to bed thinking Im going to be doing at 5am…


but in reality…. I wake up, mad at myself for not doing the 5am, NOT wanting to get up at all (as my hubby is motivating me to just get it done with him) and then also I have my workout to do with my hubby that pushes me (which i need in the am) and 2 out of 3 of my little ones.

So the moral to the story is….. I DID IT!!!!   3/5 days this week so far I did the 5:00/6:00am time!  Which people I LOVE my sleep so this is a huge accomplishment for me.  And you know what…. I FEEL SOOOOOO much better starting my day like this!   So if you think you CANT… YOU CAN!!

I just read this the other day and it really made me think…

12 Things Healthy Morning People Do Everyday:

  1. They prepare the night before – I try this…. set out my clothes, know what workout I want to do…
  2. Setting multiple alarms!!
  3. They wake up EXTRA EXTRA early… so for your 5am workout you get up at 4:15am… OK OK this is not me yet and might not ever be but thats ok!
  4. They drink water first thing – another goal trying to drink 1/2 my body weight so why not get the party started early in the day!
  5. They also add a few drops of lemon – anything to make that water taste better is a PLUS for me!
  6. They eat a little something – I don’t do this either but I used to grab a few almonds but now with me doing the KETO thing not sure that falls under there so maybe a scoop of peanut butter?
  7. Or eat something that feels like a treat – Ok a reese peanut butter cup might not be the best option and thats a treat for me 🙂
  8. They listen to energizing music – Country all the way in the Brown Casa
  9. They drink coffee – COUNT ME IN on this one!
  10. They eat a second breakfast – COUNT ME IN AGAIN!
  11. They turn in early – Well I am trying but once you get the kids to bed or try to get them to bed after they ask for another drink of water or for you to take them back to their room for the 100th time its usually an hour later than anticipated but thats ok
  12. They don’t let mornings make them miserable – OK OK Im still working on this but its improving  WOOHOO!

Happy Mental Health Day!

And YES it really is a day!!!! Which it totally should be!!!

Happy Mental Health Day you all!

You know what’s crazy??? We take care of ourselves or most of us try to on a daily basis with our physical health but when do we honestly take care of our mental health????

Well here lately I am thinking I might need to start doing that more!!

Let’s be honest…. as a mom, wife, employee or anyone else… like me do you at times feel like you are going to lose your Shitz?????? Yes yes yes I know I feel the same way!!!! So I told myself it’s time to focus on my mental health as well as my physical health. Now granted I feel these do go hand in hand!! Because when I work out and eat healthier I feel better but hell you know as well as I do we all fall off that wagon a time or two😁😁😁

So one way I feel we can cope or at least I am giving it a whirl!

Taking time at least 10 minutes for me on a daily basis to meditate!!!!!! I know I know what the heck right? The first time I did it I was like “this is weird”. And all I could think about was the 500 other things I could do in that 10 minutes. But honestly… “practice makes perfect” right? The more you practice the more you learn to let your mind relax!!! Seriously it helps!!! You should try it!

So many ways you can try it. Hell just google relaxing meditation or I use an app called Aaptiv which I love and also use this same one to change up my workouts! Take 10 min and just close your eyes, sit and let your mind relax 😳😁😳😁😳

Isn’t this a CRAZY Statistic??? And at the time I know the feeling you think you are the ONLY Person going through this…

Ok ok and let the journey begin…  And holy cow a journey it was and will always make us stronger individuals for going through it and going through it together!

Also I completely forget to mention. We did 4 rounds of IUIs before we even went to IVF. And based on the clinical data your percentages of getting pregnant go waaaaaaay down after the second IUI. So I wished we would have pushed to IVF instead of 2 more IUIs.

First off… once you meet with the IVF specialist and decide this is the route for you… you start with TONS of testing…. Just be ready to make yourself a Pin Cushion and smile while you do it because you know what WHO CARES you are on your road to having your family!!  I didn’t care if I had to get stuck 1000 times I was ready for it!  Literally it might be 1000 🙂

So when you pick your date or your IVF plan and make sure your insurance covers or decide how much you have to pay they want you to make sure YOU ARE READy sooooo you 1st have to go through orientation… And people before you go into this session you talk about nerves/anxiety it is honestly SCARY!   Then when you walk in and see so many people heading toward the same process you are or the struggles you have been through it honestly is refreshing and you already feel support in that room!

You walk in and you receive a HUGE binder going thru the whole process you are about to embark on!  And to me it was overwhelming but I am sort of an OCD scheduler/planner so i felt great that we FINALLY had a PLAN!!

So the next steps… SCHEDULE YOUR START DATE!..


#1 First Step of the IVF Process is to PRODUCE Eggs…. so therefore as the woman you need to….. lets just say give yourself LOTS and LOTS of injections to get your eggs a pumping and producing.  They will give you a START DATE to start your injections and will let you know when you need to come in for your first round of blood work (like I said this will be the first of many you little pin cushion you!)  I was stuck many many times and had to make a lot of trips to STL to Washington University where we did our rounds of IVF.  I would get up super early or stay at my sis in laws to go into the office and do blood work that lasted maybe 2 seconds and head back to my territory and start my day.  When it gets close to your retrieval you might be doing blood work every other day so hang in there it is just a matter of time for your miracles to come!  Lets continue to look at the big picture peeps!

#2 Egg Retrieval… When you are ready to go and you have produced the eggs they want you to have (which they will determine this by your blood work) you will be ready for the egg retrieval. The medicine I took worked SUPER WELL because I produced 28 eggs!  Which in the IVF world that is a lot!!  (So therefore I didn’t realize I was overstimulated until a few weeks later… and thats another story in itself).

The actual Egg Retrieval process honestly is pretty easy.  You will need someone to take you and bring you home because you will be lightly sedated.  All I remember them saying is think of something nice and all I remember is seeing my husband Lance by my side and saying I want to be at the beach having a cocktail.  And it seemed like 5 min later I was in recover and they were waking me up!  Some people have some cramping after this process but I honestly don’t remember much cramping at all really.  I was just super excited that we were 1 step closer to having our babies!

#3 The Sperm – The Sperm Sample is collected! – There is really no explanation for this… use your imagination people!
We need sperm to get with the eggs to make an EMBRYO!!!

#4 Eggs and Sperm come together to FERTILIZE! – This is a process you kind of just wait and see what happens.  So your eggs have been retrieved and the sperm is there and they pretty much put them in a petri dish to see what they are gonna do! You wait a few days and they will let you know how many Fertilized!  We were SUPER lucky and after 2 days we had 21 out of our 28 eggs FERTILIZE (but the goal is to get them to the 5 day mark which we call there 5-day transfer embryos).  So from 28 to 21 to 12 to 6.  6 was our FINAL count of DAY 5 Embryos which was GREAT!  We were super excited for this!  So we would be able to transfer and also have some FROZEN little embryos for later!

#5 ITS TRANSFER TIME…..Time to put these little ones back in my uterus! – So then on day 6 they call you to come in (you drop everything because thats just what you do) and you go in an they implant them into your uterus!  I know sounds super odd but HONESTLY how COOL is it that you get to see your little embryos be put in your uterus through an ultrasound machine??? Not everyone gets to see that on a daily basis??  (So you lucky people that look at your hubby and get pregnant see what you are missing out on?? haha)

Here was one of our little embryos that we got to see before it was transferred…

We had two embryos that looked similar!   I remember the doctor asking are you SURE you want to transfer two and Lance and I looked at each other and said ABSOLUTELY!  Gosh if we could have 2 how great would that be then we could be done?  Or if one didn’t take then we would have a better chance at being pregnant 🙂 So 2 were implanted and then the hardest part of the journey….

WE WAIT…… 2 WEEKS!  When you are going through IVF or waiting to test its like ETERNITY!!!
